The defending Stanley Cup Champions open the NHL Season looking to repeat as champions in 2010, the final year for their home venue of Mellon Arena. Head Coach Dan Bylsma will look to the leadership established last season by Sidney Crosby, Sergei Gonchar and Evgeni Malkin.
In the draft, the Penguins picked up Simon Despres, Philip Samuelsson, Ben Hanowski, Nick Petersen, Alex Velischek, Andy Bathgae and Victor Ekbom.
